At Devic Realms, our aim is to help people improve their environment and in so doing, to make cities and towns appear more natural. We make ourselves available to anyone who wants our services, at a cost they can afford.   We seek to show people that there is more to their little piece of real estate than just their house, by showing them that a garden space can be an important area of interest, entertainment, or escape. We would like to see residences on the south coast break away from the traditional suburban archetypal garden of square lawns and small shrubs, instead choosing to go for beautiful, full, natural gardens the way they were meant to be before man embarked on his quest to control nature.

We would love to see people embracing the natural type of garden; a garden that looks as if nature created it many years ago, and someone built their house in the middle of it. All too often it is the reverse that you see. A big house with no expense spared, and a little unhealthy shrub or two tacked onto the outside to represent what is supposed to be a garden. I have seen many a vacant block with a beautiful wood lot on it, a perfect garden already there, only to be destroyed to build a house that could have easily been placed amongst the plants that called that block their home. If only they brought in the “landscape advice before the bulldozer.” We would love to see gardens on the South Coast full of life and beauty; beautiful, natural gardens created for nature and man alike. People should be living in and with the landscape, not on top of it.

Our Mission is to make a significant and lasting contribution to Australian landscape design, promoting the use of natives where appropriate, and creating a paradise in everyone’s property. We want everyone to experience the beauty of nature in their own backyard. We can help do this by:

• helping people understand the relationship between garden design and nature
• encouraging Australians to appreciate the broader landscape
• helping the average home gardener with garden design
• integrating landscape design and conservation issues.
